Germany, day 3

Day 3: Tuesday, April 26th 07:45: Depart for Weihenstephan (Approx. 15 min walk) 08:00: Brew day at Weihenstephan 15:00: Tasting then Tour of Bavarian State Brewery Ow. Just ow. Not the first time I’ve made beer the morning after too much beer, and it won’t be the last either.

Germany, day 1

Enchanting. Delightful. Charming. Lovely. Inviting. Quaint. All of these describe Freising to a tee. On a Sunday afternoon, words like sleepy, quiet and dead also describe it. One thing I was to learn about German is that their lifestyle is a far cry from the North American convenience/consumer culture that I am used to. I loved it. We landed on a Sunday, and walked downtown to grab something to eat after we checked into Gastof Lerner. Road Trip

The Man: “Hey, it looks like we have 5 days off together over Thanksgiving. Want to go on a road trip down South? We can hit some of the breweries you’ve been mentioning in Asheville.” Me: No response, as I was already packing.   We had so much beer in the trunk by the end, I was getting paranoid about someone rear-ending us. And a huge shout out to the Canada Customs guy who understood that it was homework….yeah, that’s it, homework.

AAARRRGGGHHH

So much work, so much to write about. Projects large and small, brewing my recipe project, and somehow I have completely forgotten about my elective – I am pretty sure there is something due there, or possibly past due at this point. And guess who takes off for a 4 day derby weekend before a week filled with 2 final exams and a major assignment on top of everything else. Sigh. Someday I will realize that I am not even a distant relation to Superwoman, and there is only so much I can realistically do. So. I am hoping to …
