Brewery day! I <3 Tuesdays! It was our turn on the pilot systems, where we made a historical Czech beer called Pivo Grodziskie. It was made entirely with smoked wheat; I am intrigued by what this is going to taste like. As well as brewing, we were putting the finishing touches on our midterm for this class where we were asked to create a Standard Operating Procedures manual for the pilot system in under 500 words. Day 38

Intro to brewing started the day, and we had two guest lecturers from Lallemand Yeasts. I find the little creatures fascinating. Alas, I could only stay for the first, more clinical, presentation as I had to dash to an appointment. I hope that both presentations will be uploaded to Blackboard so I can at least read what I missed. And then on to our first mid-term in Sensory Evaluation. I am trying to stay calm and remember that the desired outcome of going back to school is learning, not marks, but I find myself slipping every once in a while …
