T minus 17 days and counting

I am no longer at the point where I can count how many days it’s been since I started beer school; it’s much simpler to count how many I have left. 17. The number is both depressingly and delightfully small. I am going to miss my classmates and this temporary normal so much, but I am also almost giddy about the fact that in jsut over three weeks, I will no longer have a weekend home and a weekday home. Day 420

Brewery day, where I was brewing assist for Luke’s project brew. I love doing double brews, but was almost late for my creative writing stupid elective where I had to give a presentation on dialogue. Frankly, I’d have been ok with being late. Making beer > giving a presentation. Hands down. I am still trying to dial in my spice blend for my chai winter warmer. After conversations with Jon, Victor from Garden Brewing, and Asa from Brothers Brewing, I think I’ll be adding them in secondary. Now to try and figure out proportions. And a name. I need a name …

Day 392

Ooof. Where did the last four weeks go? Things are definitely ramping up in this last semester. Six new courses, lots of group work, lots of commuting (yay) and the stress of knowing that we have to rejoin the real world in a few short months. The courses are more business-oriented this semester: Management – in the first four weeks of the semester, we’ve learned about management styles, some accounting (income statements and balance sheets mostly) and started looking at elements of business plans.
